Perches that are comfortable and sturdy are an absolute neccessity for your bird. Maintaining a variety of sizes and textures will promote good foot health.

Perch Placement
Do not put perches directly above food and water dishes instead, locate perches in front of them to for easy access. Perches should be places so the bird's tail does not rub the cage or other objects. Mix up perch height and location, making sure your bird can move the cage without injuring itself.

Size and Texture
Your bird's foot should wrap around approximately 2/3 of the perch. Mix the size and texture of the perches in your bird's cage and play stands. Rough texture perches for taming those sharp nails and soft rope perches for ultimate comfort will help your bird stay happy and healthy.
