Choosing the Right Cage
The
first thing to consider is the size of the bird in relation to the size of the
cage. Even if your bird is going to spend most of its time outside the cage
on a perch or playtop, the cage needs to be at least three times the height
of the bird and twice the wing span wide. The bird's head should not be able
to fit between the bars. The door needs to be made escape proof. Some birds
actually learn to unlatch doors so, make sure the door is secure. The spacing
of the bars is critical to safety and security. See the chart below to find
the correct size bar spacing for your bird.

Quality Cages
Birds Unlimited only sells the Highest Quality Cages
because we believe in maintaining a safe enviroment for all captive
birds. Large birds are especially hard on cages and will try to escape any cage.
While our cages are built extremely well, we recommend placing a padlock or
secondary locking device on the doors of cages housing large species.
